Went for a quick trail walk through Englewood earlier this week to scout it as a family photo option. Big fan. This place is going on my list for fall sessions, and here's why.

A winding dirt trail through a dense autumn forest with tall trees and fallen leaves covering the ground.

The light is the whole game here. Most of the trails are shaded, which is exactly what you want. No squinting kids, no harsh shadows on faces, just soft even light under the trees. Your kids keep their eyes open and I don't have to do anything fancy. Everybody wins.

It's also an easy walk. Nothing steep, nothing tricky. If your toddler can walk, your toddler can handle this trail.

And at the far end there's a playground. This is the part I care about most, honestly. Tell the kids the playground comes after photos and suddenly everyone cooperates. Sessions go smoother with a bribe built in.

Wooden playground with slides and climbing structures nestled among tall trees in a forest setting with wood chip ground cover.

Oh, and a baby deer just stood there and let me take its picture. Can't promise it'll show up for your session, but the wildlife endorsement is noted.

A young white-tailed deer stands alert among autumn leaves on a forest floor surrounded by tall trees.

So yeah. Shade, easy trails, a playground bribe, and good light for fall colors. If you're starting to think about holiday cards (it's that time), this is a great spot for them.
