Hackensack Family Photographer

Hackensack is the center of Bergen County in more ways than one — and families here tend to be practical, real, and not interested in overthinking a photo session. You want good photos of your family. You want someone who shows up, knows what they're doing, and makes it easy. That's the session I do.

I shoot across Bergen County and Hackensack is a regular stop. The parks along the Hackensack River give you real natural settings without driving far, and sessions here are generally relaxed and straightforward.

Where We Shoot in Hackensack

Foschini Park is a solid base — open space, accessible, and easy for families with young kids to navigate. It's not the most visually dramatic setting in Bergen County but it photographs cleanly and the open sky gives you good light options depending on the time of day.

Anderson Park offers a quieter, more wooded feel. It's a smaller park but has natural shade and some nice tree coverage that works well in warmer months when you want to stay out of direct sun.

For families who'd rather stay close to home, shooting in your neighborhood or backyard is always an option I'm comfortable with. A familiar setting often produces more relaxed, natural images than a park — especially with young kids who are more comfortable on their own turf.

FAQ

What are the best spots for family photos in Hackensack?

Foschini Park for open, accessible space. Anderson Park for something more wooded and natural. Your own neighborhood or backyard is always a strong option too — familiar settings tend to bring out more relaxed, genuine expressions, especially from kids.

What time of year is best in Hackensack?

Fall is the most popular across Bergen County. Spring and early summer evenings work well too. Summer is doable if we shoot in the early evening once the heat breaks.

Do I have to travel far from Hackensack for a good session

No. There are good options within and around the city. If you want something more visually dramatic — like a waterfront or historic park — we can discuss locations slightly further out in Bergen County. But for most families, staying local produces sessions they're just as happy with.

What should we wear?

Coordinated but not matching. Earthy tones, muted colors, and simple layers tend to photograph well across most outdoor settings. Avoid bold patterns or bright neons.

Andrew did a fantastic job at my wife's baby shower. He is professional, on time, and easy to work with. Highly recommend!
